Privacy notice

Kaya is an information website about adult ADHD assessment in the UK. It does not offer assessment, diagnosis, treatment or prescribing, and it does not take bookings or payments.
This notice explains what personal information is processed when you use the site, why, and what rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who is responsible for your information
Kaya is run by Nadia Hajat, who is the controller for the personal information described here. Kaya is not a company or a business at this stage.

What Kaya does not collect
There are no forms, accounts or sign-ups on Kaya. We do not ask for your name, contact details or any health information to use the site.
The provider checklist and the cost worksheet save your answers in your own browser so they are there when you come back. They are never sent to us and we cannot see them.
Please do not send us details about your health. Kaya cannot give individual advice. If you need support, speak to your GP or another health professional.
Information processed when you visit
Hosting
Kaya is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify receives technical information when your browser asks for a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests, in running a working and secure website.
Fonts
Some of the lettering on the main page is loaded from Google Fonts. To send the font files, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. Google Fonts does not set cookies.

Analytics, only if you accept
If you choose "Accept analytics", we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful. Google Analytics records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location worked out from your IP address. It does not tell us who you are.
If you reject analytics, or make no choice, Google Analytics does not load.
Lawful basis: your consent. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months.

If you contact us
If you email or phone us, we receive your email address or phone number, your name if you give it, and what you tell us. We use this only to reply to you.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests, in answering your message. We keep messages for no longer than 12 months, unless we need them longer to deal with a complaint.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. Information is only handled by the services named above (Netlify and Google), acting as providers to Kaya, or where the law requires us to share it.
Information sent outside the UK
Netlify and Google may process information in the United States and other countries. When they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or approved contract terms.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong
- ask us to delete information
- ask us to limit how we use information, or object to our use of it
- withdraw your consent to analytics at any time
Because we do not collect names or contact details through the site, we usually hold very little that can be linked to you. To make a request, contact hello@tessa-tools.org. We will reply within one month.
Making a complaint
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Kaya is written for adults. It is not aimed at children.
Changes to this notice
If the site changes, for example if Kaya later becomes a service, this notice will be updated before anything new is collected. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
